Personal History:
Born on January 30th 1960 into a Muggle family of four, Lily grew up as any other Muggle-born would… without the knowledge that she could do magic. She was particularly close with her sister, Petunia, and the two did nearly everything together.
But when the two girls met the strange boy from the lesser part of the town, Severus Snape from Spinner’s End, things began to change. He explained to Lily how he knew she was a witch, the reason for why extraordinary things tended to happen around her, and they became steadfast friends.
Then came the day that Lily got her Hogwarts letter. Her parents were extremely proud of her, but her sister felt left out as she could not join her and had secretly written to the Headmaster, asking to be allowed in as well. Unfortunately, it could not happen and despite Lily’s efforts to comfort Petunia, the other girl felt abandoned and began to resent Lily and her abilities, believing them to be abnormal.
At Hogwarts Lily excelled in Potions and possibly Charms as well, though often the answers to teachers’ questions were accompanied by a cheeky response. Her friendship with Severus Snape was still strong, however over the following years that friendship became strained by Snape’s growing involvement with the Dark Arts and his friends from Slytherin.
Another thing was the annoying and arrogant James Potter, who continuously tried to impress Lily throughout the years and Snape often bore the brunt of those attempts. One of which resulted in the final fight between Lily and Snape after which they didn’t speak again.
During her Seventh year she became Head Girl and it seemed that James Potter, who had become Headboy, finally grew up a little bit and somehow managed to persuade Lily to date him with the end result of them getting married barely out of school. Together they joined The Order of The Phoenix and openly defied Voldemort three times each. After a couple of years of marriage they had a son, Harry, in the very same year a prophecy had been made concerning the downfall of the Dark Lord.
Targeted by Voldemort, the couple went into hiding under the Fidelius but was betrayed by their secret keeper, Peter Pettigrew. Then on October 31st 1981, Voldemort attacked the little family and both Lily and James died at the young age of 21. But their son managed to survive as she had sacrificed her life for his, giving him a protection, which not even the Dark Lord could overcome.

Losses during the war: James, friends from the Order and her own life, as well as the chance to see her son grow up.
